The usability via the touch screen like it very much. The screen responds instantly, as the mobile phone. One can also compile their own menu with the most important functions. It's also great that you can choose the focal point by pressing on the display.
A real hammer is the macro / motion mode. Even with Zoom you can answer it almost to the lens to the subject. So powerful macros are unglaubich possible. And around the lens is even a (switchable) LED lighting installed. Such a thing does not exist in any other compact.
The autofocus will work in all situations quickly and correctly, even in difficult light.
Underwater I have not tried it yet. Since I have to wait until the summer holidays. However, I noticed the camera before the snow, and as the moisture dried very poorly under the slide door. Therefore suitable as regards their type not quite optimal for wetness.
What I did not like so much:
Contrast ratio for subjects with strong chiaroscuro differences. As you notice a weakness in the high-resolution miniature sensor. Either the shadows are too dark or the lights are overexposed. But can not get any better any other compact with a small sensor.
The sliding closure can be opened a little difficult. You have to press exactly on top of the edge - a matter of practice.
When shooting you have to be very careful that you do not get your finger in front of the lens - needs a little getting used to hand position. The display is a bit dark in the default setting (3). Have turned to full brightness (5) then it's ok. Let's see if the display brightness is rich underwater.
The overall package of small and Waterproof almost always very good photos, Super Macro and prima videos is simply unbeatable. I have uploaded some photos (in black TX30).
By the way, who wants to look at the picture quality even in full resolution, for example, can at dpreview.com are some examples (Google: "dpreview Sony TX30 samples gallery")
Addendum: underwater camera works fine, makes good pictures and is dense. Have we tried in the seaside holiday at snorkel extensively. However, we are not deeper than 2m. The setting should be for good image quality on either intelligent automatic or underwater. Finishing with Photoshop obtained from underwater images still get out a lot. Display is easily visible at full brightness even in the water.
What also works incredibly well, the background blur is in portraits (set as a separate program mode). In order to succeed shots that (in good light) at least up to A4 are not from my DSLR or system camera with kit lens indistinguishable in quality. It is also worthwhile to look at the various programs for low-light scene mode in detail. There is for example a high ISO settings and one in which multiple images are combined to form a low-noise recording. The latter is suitable for static subjects and really provides very respectable images with minimal light.
Two more tips:
1. The lens has been designed for very sensitive to stray light (then lose the images of contrast and get some sort of greyness). In inclined laterally incident from above or backlit with hand helps some shade. Just be careful that the hand does not come with image :-) - alternatively the tried and tested sun at your back.
2.The Mini-SD card may also be used upside down. Then the camera reports, however, repeatedly unsuccessful accesses to the memory. If you had not come it, you might suspect a defect - like one of the other reviewers wrote here.
I just had incidentally opportunity to compare the image quality of the TX30 to the current Sony WX 220, and because the TX30 cuts surprisingly significantly better. If I had not thought of.
