The 26-year-old Leslie Clio from Hamburg sets with "Gladys" before their debut album that finally brings back color in the current pop and dance-oriented German music scene. On the plate it presents eleven song beads, all of which can pass for retro-soul-pop-pieces, compared to others in this genre but have high earworm factor - especially the current single "I Could not Care Less". Her voice sounding more like an Amy Winehouse and not after the little blonde girl on the cover. Furthermore, the artist does exactly right, what do many of her colleagues were wrong for me. A good dose of Soul, nevertheless there remain pop songs that are not zerschrien but supported by her great voice. There are also many small instrumental gadgets that make the whole thing somehow special and complete the total picture. In a just world Leslie Clio would probably be as successful as Adele. Every single song is really incredibly strong, so me now no longer bothers a little quenched short term of the CD at the beginning - so you have at least nearly 38 minutes perfection without filling!
