Waiting For My Rocket To Come (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Jason Mraz is -at least in the photos in the booklet of his album to be a bit eccentric urteilen- young man. On the cover, he is talking to a chicken, on another photo he is wearing even a button that says "I Love Sex" and even a pair of glasses with a red and a blue glass. On the whole, he could pass for a younger Hugh Grant Double ... a little addition to the cap, but quite nice.
Anders is the music on "Waiting For My Rocket To Come". Since Mraz are properly gas and serves a great mix of acoustic songwriter pop, sunny melodies, catchy choruses and atmospheric, eloquent texts.
Vocally recalls Jason Mraz a bit of a mixture of Don MacLean and Tracy Chapman (!), Topped with a not despising personal touch. Not only the voice but also the unique talent for a successful mix of styles make Mraz to a more than hopeful talent. This fact is the handset after the great opening track "You and I Both" clear.
It is especially nice that "Waiting For My Rocket To Come" has not really weak songs ... ie no filler. This is hardly surprising because it shows Jason Mraz to correct the effect that he has a lot of fun on his own music. Place for sadness and melancholy is hardly ... after all, he comes in the grand "The Remedy" to the statement "I will not worry my life away". He's right and we as listeners who also gets his. A smile is as good as guaranteed.
In addition to "The Remedy" can still be "Curbside Prophet", a great mix of country and hip-hop and "On Love, In Sadness" is identifiable as absolute highlights of this debut album.
Attentive music lovers will notice that "Waiting For My Rocket To Come" was produced by the same person as John Mayer's "Room For Squares". The evidence also of exceptional quality, which is musically Mraz hardly compare with Mayer ... the only thing the two have in common is their great talent.
So ... if you're looking for a boy with a voice, check out Jason Mraz!
