The story is original even for a science fiction novel. A city continuously forced to move on pain of mortal danger.
And yes, indeed, this book reads quickly, as Maurice Leblanc, and is also excellent. I was not bored for a moment and in each chapter a surprise awaits.
In terms of the end, I found it excellent. Some may be guessed, but the chunk is unpredictable. For me, the end fits perfectly. But it is true that demand is still how they will manage to solve new problems that appear.
Finally, I saw in the comments they placed alongside the novel "1984" and "Brave New World", this is not my case. This novel is much closer to the science fiction side than the sociological dimension of those two novels. In my library, I put it next to Asimov rather than George Orwell.
So well deserved 5 stars!
