For other uses, I would give a mixed review:
- To watch TV channels: the quality of the source is not great at the base, even for HD channels and music channels, do not expect an outstanding sound result ... the sound is much better than the one TV (Samsung in my case), but the voices are, in my opinion, slightly less intelligible with the soundbar (despite its function "clear voice")
- To watch Blu-ray or DVD movies in 5.1: the sound is certainly incomparable to that of one TV, but the power in the lower and spatialization are no better than a 2.1 system that costs 50. The sound is more balanced (better frequency response) with the sound bar with a 2.1 basic, but it has little importance for movies, except maybe if you look operas :-)
Still, the design (simple, elegant, no cables), and product maturity (the soundbar issues behind all IR signals it receives façade, it recognizes the signals' volume up / down "your TV remote control, it turns on and off automatically depending on the presence of audio) are attractive benefits to you to see if they justify the price difference with a 2.1 ...
