As I watched the film version of 2011 (I only thought of the actors of dArtagang is a girl.) I felt that I'm probably too old for remakes of my beloved Musketeers.
And now this! Just by chance I caught the Christmas broadcast in the First, had after the first few minutes is still the remote control in the Handhmm .. dArtagnags father ?? .... comical costumes, so very Leder.alles so dirty - .and then was it happened to me! No, for honor and friendship you're never too old!
This is not a remake of the books Dumas. BBC has produced a television series that follows only the background story of the books and even that only very loosely. This rupture, partly also a break with the historical background, but has created the opportunity to present completely new experiences and adventures of the Musketeers, to illuminate their characters much deeper and also to bring back power in a well-known story. With wit, an unshakable cohesion and loyalty made the four all challenges.
Be told ten self-contained stories, the last two episodes are related as the season finale. There is no cliffhanger that I hate the way.
The casting is incredibly good, though some characters need some time to arrive with me. (I was at the beginning about Tom Burke as Athos, my favorite musketeer, a little confused arrogant, haughty, cool. Since episode three for me there is no other Athos more!)
The backdrop shows, however, that the budget of the production was not the biggest, but for me detracts from the overall impression of the series is not.
All in all, the series for me very well done with a high entertainment value. Dumas would certainly great fun with it, especially at Porthos.
It is inexplicable to me why the series has not been adopted here in German television.
Now that I have seen the English version, I must say that the synchronization is well managed! I have rarely experienced that a synchro as close to the original comes, all respect. Unfortunately I had to find that the German version is reduced by approximately 5 minutes per episode. The results at the end, after all, nearly an hour! However, this is probably at the expense of the BBC, who allegedly always does for selling abroad. Too bad it lacks some funny dialogues and doing scene would have served better understanding.
