This soundtrack 'look' to "Moulin Rouge" begins with an instrumental version of Elton John's "Your Song", which was sung already on the first soundtrack version. This version here is nice, but nothing more. Track 2 "Sparkling Diamonds" were also on the first album, sounding there somehow "rounder" and better than in the version directly from the film. Track 3 "One Day I'll Fly Away" is known also from the first soundtrack album. This song shines here but in really completely different variant and in this absolutely succeeded. Track 4 "The Pitch" is the piece of the film if Ziedler and the others try the Earl finance the new stage play to make tasty and rumtanzen in the craziest disguises. Track 5 "Come What May" is a great song, but was so perfect for my taste on the first score, that this version sounds a bit powerless here. Track 6 "Like a Virgin" originally performed by Madonna, is heard in the film, when the Earl actually Santine expected but Ziedler with the tablecloth rumtanzt on his head. Knallharte Madonna fans, in this version of the sure hands up over your head for the clearly suitable not for vocals, all other are the scenes from the film in mind, laughing on the floor. Of the remaining five tracks on the CD projects definitely only "The show must go on" (originally performed by Queen) out, which was implemented so great that he would have absolutely heard on the first soundtrack CD. Here he is the most powerful piece on the in my opinion otherwise not so successful soundtrack CD. Some reviewers have written on this soundtrack CD that they look forward to the original film versions. For me, I have to say that I personally liked better the studio recordings on the first soundtrack CD in most cases. The easy way of illustration only, the criteria by which I judged this CD.
