With RE: Revelations 2 is not a full price game (depending on whether download or by Disc 25-35), but the action has been a whopping 8 to 10 hours of playing time for the four episodes (depending on how you (!) located just hires, selects difficulty, etc.) An episode consists of two parts, which in turn each last about one hour. At the beginning of each episode to play Claire Redfield along with the sassy Moira, always thereafter in Part 2 of an episode of the old men Bary's turn, accompanied by the wondrous girl in her nightgown, Natalia. I can not order too much spoilers here not say more than that the parts with Claire and Moira always in the past, with Bary and Natalia always in play here and now. Whatever you can say the same: Episode 4 has a fairly open end and there will be certainly more episodes or bonus episodes. RAID mode've me so far not been sufficiently implemented to heart, to give an honest and informed opinion, therefore I am describing here basically just to campaign mode.
In the solo campaign as a player controlling one or Claire Bary. Both are then series typically armed with all sorts of firearms (pistol, shotgun, submachine gun, gun), grenades and knives and taxes, as one is already familiar from RE5 and 6. Lateral Running is - Series untypical - possible. The weaker companion Moira and Natalia are controlled by the AI, but alternatively human players in split-screen can be used as Moira (then armed with crowbars and lamp) and Natalia (by telepathic abilities such as Monster and early stone's throw blessed) miteinsteigen into play.
Anyone who thinks without Wumme play along is boring, let me tell you that the fellow Moira and Natalia have to do plenty of other things, or opponents can carry into the next world on their way. Just Moira crowbar is a good melee weapon. The story as such is based at the beginning of a bit of SAW, but degenerates very quickly became cliched Resident Evil tales (almost impossible to be overcome unilateral action by the protagonists, tens of questions that will be answered only partially ever halfway, barely a third person in the game , deserted places unrealistic intentions of the "evil" ...).
The atmosphere is the pièce de résistance of Resident Evil Revelations 2. Rather than as the main parts of the series, RE5 and RE6, degenerate to Actiongeballer, given here as in Revelation 1 the ammunition shortage, puzzles deposits and total fewer but furchteinflößendere and stronger opponents is happening. As Handlungsort one has this time opted for leaving the island from the Soviet era. The great sound in the game and the "Buddy-feature" or rather the "helplessness" of the second person (Moira can only fight with crowbars and especially Natalia is virtually defenseless against the monsters) contributes their part in, something (time) put pressure on the players. Nevertheless, the game is unfair at any time. Just Bary is very strong and compensates for Natalia which is particularly weak, by his strength. Although the obligatory intermediate bosses or Horde attacks at the end of each episode or part are stronger than the opponents in the rest of gameplay for RE ratios total but relatively easy. Especially the final boss of Episode 4 is downright laughable, even for normal players, not devote all their time to the hobby.
Graphically relevations moved 2 unfortunately only on PS3 or Xbox 360 level. Muddy textures and dreary designed, very linear way to a loveless but still lonely acting island are the dark side of the game. At least you manage the 60 frames per second most of the time to maintain. Only when really many opponents or "complex" scenes the frame rate goes to pieces and moves sometimes with "only" 30 FPS. However, problems have made me generally light and darkness or brightness in the game. Sets the brightness to dark, so you can see in darker rooms absolutely nothing, one sets it as recommended, so forming in black areas unsightly artifacts on the TV. I have a fairly new Samsung TV, games at 1080p and a new HDMI cable. However, known to have on your console the same problem, so I'm in total from an unfavorable brightness grading in the game.
Conclusion: Those who expect long-standing Resident Evil fare, will find here. Gloomy gameplay, great sound, creating fear and panic succeed and it's fun to explore the island. Unfortunately, the very weak graphics, areas often identical construction and the open end of cloudy atmosphere makes, so it's not quite enough for five stars.
