"The Sims 3: Katy Perry's Sweet Treats Accessories" is, as the name suggests, dedicated to both the famous pop singer as well as sweets.
Cotton candy, lollipops, candy and other sweets are the predominant components of the new pieces of furniture, while Katy Perry and her stage outfits - so the description - were the inspiration for the new garments.
As always, the objects of good quality and were well prepared with creativity. The two subjects were captured appropriately in its abstractness and craziness. Here, however, already revealed the first possible problem.
The stuff suit anything. Neither the clothing, hairstyles or the furniture can usually combine useful outside of their subject. Either you build with them a world in which everything is made of sugar and quietschbunt, or one limited to the four or five things that are still somehow be used in a normal environment.
Who is now building its Katy Perry sweets World already in mind, let me tell you that the "sweet life" is only intended for adult women and children, senior citizens and actually grown men in Katty Perry's Sweet world have no place. At least as far as the dress code.
Five hairstyles, eight tops, four bases and 14 outfits are the Sims available. Except for two items of clothing for male Sims, these are exclusively available for women of Sims World. Many of the parts are somewhere relatively freely and parents should first take a look at the contained clothes and see if your child absolutely needs a bikini with huge cupcakes in his game.
In buying and building mode then wait 49 properties on finding their place in the game world. Apart from kitchen and bathroom (nothing), electronics and cupboards (one object), is found in every furniture category a handful of new items. Only the choice of decoration is extended to almost 20 properties. The construction mode has to make do with a new fence and 6 doors and windows.
For twice the price of a regular accessory packs you get well-crafted but highly restricted usable clothing which is also limited to be combined with other things, such as new furniture this extension. You also get the duplicate content at twice the price? No! The 82 objects of this extension would be disproportionate to other publications of the series and its scope.
Before disappearing with EA's acquisition of the series, the concrete figures of the back of pack, an accessory pack contained more than 60 objects. This number has been reduced not dramatically, then you pay here for about 20 objects 15 euros more.
A proper Expansion Pack contained - if EA has also not reduced - always 120 objects and new gameplay. So if you compare the prices of the accessory packs and an expansion pack, the question arises: Is new gameplay worth only 4 euros?
Well, according to "The Sims 3: Showtime" could actually say yes, but that's another story.
The price-performance ratio is not easy in this expansion. Neither the number nor the availability of new objects justify the purchase. The only thing that is filled full here, is Katy Perry's bra on the cover. What shoud that? EA tried here to undermine a new inhibitions and even less content for even more money to sell? Do I have to "hype" his game with some celebrity and circulated possibly expensive royalties on clients from? Who knows.
In any case, EA has once again set a new low point of the series with this theme confined, overpriced Celebrity expansion in almost every respect. Once again, all too obvious that you no longer have the goal to earn with good quality games and money. It is instead more likely to cover up, delusion and probably dementia. You simply claps Katy Perry's cover on, the word "Mega" is against some objects unpacked into it more than usual and so justify the much higher price. This is EA's operation in 2012. Noteworthy.
The extension can be recommended to anyone to buy currently actually. For about 5 to 10 Euro rather less would perhaps make a fair deal, the fans of Katy Perry or sweets. Whoever cherishes no great passion for both, which is also included with this accessory pack have no real joy, as clothing and furniture are probably too weird.
