Situation before: In summer, the humidity rose - despite basement windows closed - up more than 80% (at about 20 degrees air temperature). The moisture does not come through the walls, but on the open cellar stairs by air exchange with the warmer living spaces. There is no dried laundry in the basement.
As it is partly come to mold growth on the stored objects, the decision was: a dehumidifier must be found.
Result:
The DEM10 has within 1-2 days, the humidity in the basement (approx 70m2, ie above the recommended room size) on
On extremely hot and humid summer days, however, the unit is running almost continuously. At "normal" summer days the automatic ensures that the device only runs in phases.
Experience:
I could - in contrast to other field reports - detect any unpleasant high volume. The volume is evenly without ungenehme frequencies, similar to a fan at a higher level. For a basement, and compared to eg building dehumidifiers, absolutely OK.
The water tank could be a bit bigger, but it was enough in the basement for about 1 day (continuous operation).
Summary:
I can thoroughly recommend the device for similar purposes. For other applications (cold environment) other comments should be taken into account.
