Caveat: I am not an expert in terms what headphones! These are actually the first On Ear headphones that I can call my own and my rating is purely my impression.
The HDJ-500 are very comfortable and begin not to press to unpleasant or a narrow, even after hours of wear. You realize after some time wearing barely, that they have been on. In a ten-hour bus ride distance they have done to me consistently good service and the DJ as a headset that's primarily designed for a completely different purpose.
The sound is, in my subjective opinion absolutely satisfactory for the price as a layman in this field. The headphones have a good bass and otherwise it makes listening fun with them :).
Now to the actual purpose of the placement. The volume can be increased very much, so even in noisy clubs (can not here, experience reports) easy monitoring should be possible. While wearing the headphones outside noise hide quite well, but penetrates to the outside in my opinion quite a lot (which of course is fine for a DJ headphones) .. on the train or bus you can quickly annoy other people at high volume. Since I have not heard exclusively with in-ears music I did not know this problem.
Unlike the other models tested, the headphones can also wear comfortable if they only hang around your neck (comes with DJs often known before). A capsule may be this twist in both directions, so that monitoring in this "suspended" state with an ear is possible when one leads sent to headphones with his shoulder to his ear.
Included are 2 Cable a. The coiled cable for great freedom of movement when placing and a shorter, normal, which I take when I use the headset on the laptop or mobile phone Both cables can also be converted into a large jack with included adapter (the precise mm figures I have while writing this review not in the head). The cable is inserted on one side into the headset and locked by rotation, so it can not fall out.
All in all a super headphones, with which I am completely satisfied and I may make a full purchase recommendation.
