After I had informed myself quite extensively, have me this Weltempfänger indulged recently as "New Year's gift" and am * very * impressed them. Who looks at times with the theme World Receiver / shortwave, which comes undoubtedly sooner or later to the Chinese manufacturer Tecsun not over. I had the name foretold nothing I thought at world receivers have always been at Sony, but the place I know, yes no more Weltempfänger ago and Tecsun can those with Gerätem as this clearly hold a candle or she has overhauled - not for nothing are radios also in the network as well discussed. The compact receiver is very well made and comes up with lots of details and extensive accessories well-made and meaningful on. This is not a cheap "China firecrackers" but a very valent device! It's nice held "technical" in design and looks after my Emfpinden look like a world receiver should look (by the way there is in reality to much better than here in the figure). I especially like the knobs (for me one of the many reasons for purchase) for tuning, BFO and volume as well as the relatively large keys for direct frequency entry (here slightly better ergonomics for me was the way also one of the arguments against the "successor" PL 660, the narrower keys has). The large display with the beautiful orange lighting (including with transmitter strength indicator in the price range!) Makes operation a real pleasure! The whole thing comes in a well packed box and with this are still a dipole antenna on a reel (with crab), earphones, batteries with AC adapter / charger and a well made (and useful) or protective carrying case for the radio. Everything as I said processed very valuable and a really great price / performance ratio also and especially for those who simply times "get a taste" in the subject would shortwave. And who wants to use it simply as a "normal" FM radio, will be quite surprised by the great reception and good sound only. I still have no means tried all the features "game" but the last evenings with great joy at the PL-600 around and was able yesterday to capture with an attached wire antenna for the first time the transmitter from the United States and Mongolia the little thing so can certainly what! Conclusion: For a little money you really get what commanded and therefore absolute buy recommendation here. Am glad that I have my copy :-) And praise to Tecsun - keep it up!
