But before making this purchase decision, you should just be about a few things clear:
- Diversity of apps: the Windows Phone Store is not nearly as lavish as that of Android or iOS. The sensible thing is to think in advance, without which apps you can not live and then do research before buying, if they are available for Windows Phone. Then you experience any nasty surprises. But you have to be clear, and that you will always be neglected in terms of apps, and it may well happen if the best friend of the new super convenient app XY says that you have to test, you do not rankommt with Windows Phone just as or may have to wait a long time
- Youtube: the part of content actually the top spot, but because a point is pretty annoying especially, I must again mention extra: after Microsoft's Youtube App was non-compliant, it now has in the meantime with a new YouTube "app" resorted, which is nothing more than a link to the mobile version of youtube page. That's pretty sad, because I really love to use youtube, bothers me but I wanted to mention it separately.
- Restricted system: it is nunmal so, Windows Phone offers a not so many configuration options such as Android. One can play with the colors of the tiles, tile endlessly changing sizes and positions, but a lot more individuality does not offer the device. It is after all free as in iOS, but as someone who likes to play with new technology (like me), you will quickly notice that Windows Phone offers only limited possibilities here. But but you get then, similar to iOS, a stable system that runs and runs and runs ...
- Internet Explorer: as an iOS compels the benefit of the Safari, a Microsoft unfortunately also urges his beloved IE. Good news here: the latest version of Internet Explorer has really blossomed. He might be still not the browser of my choice (too many gloomy memories of the IE6), but it's now a fast and good browser.
- Google: what is both an advantage, of course, also has its disadvantages. It has various Google services just not quite as comfortable as available on an Android system. As search Bing is used (which can be changed, however, thanks to Tupi for pointing), the Youtube app I eh already said something. Edit: apparently can be a gmail accoutn in real time sync, was not aware (because it's just not as important to me). Thanks for pointing Tupi.
- Although a glance at the back perhaps suggests otherwise: the device can not be opened and therefore can not also replace the battery
- There is no slot for an SD card, so you have to be aware from the outset that the 16GB storage space is not expandable! So it might be advisable times to take a look at the memory used in the current device to get a feel for whether or 16GB would be enough now and in the future or not. (By the way: there is also a 32GB version, exclusive to Vodafone)
Finally, I can only say from my subjective point of view: I like the unit extremely well and makes me personally Windows Phone 8 a lot of fun. If you can live with less apps and a few other restrictions, gets a valent device with which it is safe long have fun.
