Super price / performance ratio 14

I have this goal (2nd hand what is more) for a year, so I would add my opinion because I has a step back regarding the reliability. Indeed some Tamron lenses have experienced big problems (eg the 17-50 2.8, excellent basic objo apparently, but it may not last very long from what I read on the net).
As for me no problem, even if the zoom ring is not consistent hardness throughout the range (impression it rubs over halfway). Not quite the impression of quality of a Nikkor this view, but outside of this flat finish is very good, is massive and was well finished, no play in the rings, solid metal frame, window distance MAP, a beautiful objo what! Besides its name "SP" means that Tamron puts at the top of its range. The supplied lens hood is very (VERY!) Imposing, so if you want to be discreet allowed in the bag. No significant flare anyway.
What impresses most is the stabilizer ("VC"), extremely effective, even if it sounds a little late so if you are very nervous (point and shoot) maybe we will have to disable it. Me I leave it switched (except of course tripod) because it is a beautiful place to avoid camera shake.
The development is rapid (ultrasonic motor "USD", in fact) and is generally not faulted, even in the late afternoon when the light begins to fail.
Finally, the image quality: the case of a lens for the full size ("Di"), I have an effect of "crop" on my APS-C (D5100), ie that it does not fit in a (large) central portion of the objo, where quality is optimal on all the pebbles, which must explain the excellent sharpness and dynamic (contrast) images. Costs where it is today superzoom is a bargain I think, if you come across a good number as the course mine. After, we must accept to have more 700g after the appliance or in the bag, this is not to overlook after a long walk ...
