It stands out for one thing: its sharpness.
It is for an ultra-wide-angle lens just really incredibly sharp, to the edges, and even with very open aperture.
The minimum focusing distance of 30cm is ok - nothing special, would be slightly less have been great, but you can also do a lot with this perspective jokes.
The lens is in extreme lighting conditions chromatic aberration is, and those directly backlit by the sun, there are often times flare. Those who want to take pictures in this lighting, and his images would print as large posters, should prepare themselves to it. The CA is generally very easy to correct, but it does stop working. The strong flare effect has been one or the other photo made it impossible for me if I wanted to hold the camera directly at the sun (I have the photos then made in a different light, but at the moment it was annoying). With Flare UWW lenses generally have to fight, this one a little more than average, it seems to me.
The distortion is very nice and extremely uniform. If required (comes with me currently rare, but will accumulate) also very easy to correct. The small zoom factor is one probably play a role here.
The autofocus is fast, but not the most reliable and this shortcoming I can tolerate only because it is here now time to a UWW objective is and I've learned to deal with it. This lens I use virtually not in situations where everything needs to be quickly back and hergezoomt and focused. There have already gone some spontaneous shots because of this shortcoming in the pants, Suffice it to say. Since I know about it, it however does not happen to me. I think it is unreasonable to specify a "hit rate", so bad that's again not but watch here definitely.
In a telephoto I would tolerate this performance z. B. Never ;-)
Color and contrast representation I like good or even very good, I have no comparison, other UWW I've only briefly tested.
Vignette is as expected completely negligible. I use the thing normally even with 2 filters - as you can see then clearly, but still tiny edges in the corners at 11mm.
I hope this helps you to choose when looking for a UWW either for or against this objective. For my part, I am very satisfied.
