So I have the router already in use for several months. It provides the compound
for Unitymedia modem manufactures and distributes through the firewall on the network.
This works flawlessly 24/7. The wireless connection remains permanently stable and has not let up. The range is absolutely OK and for one floor more than adequate. (I even to 100 meters visibility outside the home or with the smart phone reception!)
The Internet line Unitymedia: 100,000 (100Mbits)
this creates the router via cable (Gbit) without problems. Downloads go with about 12 to 12.5 MB / s vonstatten. The router is also equipped for a 150 Mbit line (according to TP Link creates the router between Wan and LAN data transfer rate of 800 Mbits and would therefore also very future-proof.)
However, I have immediately at the beginning (without any problems) the alternative firmware DD WRT set plays, which austattet the router with very special features. Among other things, it now lists the nice monthly traffic consumed. I had him so far 2 times restart because I had the feeling that he needs time NEN restart.
Theoretically, you can allow reboot automatically automates daily at a certain time it also. I can make no statement about the USB, I do not advertise there memory or printer. My supplied Dlink router was scrap and for once I Exchanges knew immediately that it can only be connected to the router. Forums were crowded and I did not feel like me constantly grappling with WLAN connections.
Fortunately this is here (also contrary to some reviews) in this router is not the case.
You can use the router with the alternative firmware as Access Point, Client, Client Bridge, Adhoc and WDS Station / AP.
Of course, the 5GHz do not have the range as they become available at 2.4 GHz, so I use only the 2.4 GHz.
Clean for the price an absolute recommendable Routers especially the wireless connection stops (Receive here with the phone only to the 10 neighboring WLAN) The antennas create the impression as if the router has a powerful range. He has a good but the antennas are somewhat exaggerated (but also easily exchangeable for Stronger)
With the original firmware (at least initially), there were problems so I have not left this plan. The play of z. B. DD WRT firmware should pose no problems even for novice ...
Something negative can I find the fragile piano lacquer surface and a bit too bright status LEDs.

UPDATE 29/04/2014
Router is still running. Bin with my Smartphone in the 5 GHz network and it'll be at about 100 Mbit Internet! But of course, the range is low.
I post here now times a Flash guide as you install the router DD WRT. Whether you need this alternative firmware with many extras and special features is up to you
(WDR 3600 !! For other models, the corresponding other firmware choose)
!!! WARNING !!! The firmware has a firmware error r24461 which makes an up and downgrade via web interface impossible Please AVOID this and another use !!
Standard (stock firmware) to DD WRT:

1. Please come again on the homepage using the "Search" in the router to the desired Database File. (Enter WDR 3600)
2. WDR3600 v1.x Firmware - webflash image for first installation (factory-to-ddwrt.bin) & WDR3600 v1.x Firmware - download webflash (tl-wdr3600-webflash.bin).
3. Routers should be directly connected by cable to the PC from which you want to flash! (No wireless !!)
4. Now we reseten sure call the Router! (Possibly configuration previously save)
--a. The unit is switched on (on power), now presses and holds one the reset button on the back for 30 seconds.
--b. Without releasing the reset button, you disconnect the unit from the power and holds the reset button for another 30 seconds.
--c. , The device take without letting go of the reset button back in operation and after 30 seconds the Reset button
Release -----. (So you have pressed the button a total of 90 seconds !!)
5. Now we call on the web interface. These give you the following into your browser: //192.168.1.1
6. You should now see the green interface. Then you go to System Tools on the left in the Navileiste and selects the sub-item Firmware Upgrade from.
7. Now you choose File in the previously downloaded file (factory-to-ddwrt.bin) and confirmed with the Flash upgrade process
8. When the Flash operation has been completed and the router to reset as described in section 4 can be contacted at //192.168.1.1 again rewritten to run.
9. The router is now of flagging and Reset. Now again //192.168.1.1 ... Finally, you must above under Administration on Firmware Update and select some TL-wdr3600-webflash.bin and now press Refresh. For updates you verfahrt just ... Just the update Select File. You also get newer versions of 2014. These are on the FTP server. Simply Google "dd wrt ftp BrainSlayer" Enter and you should come to the newer files
10. You now have DD WRT on your router and can now configure these according to your wishes.
DD WRT firmware to Standard (floor)

1. Download to DD WRT website following file WDR3600 v1.x Webrevert - Back to stock (wdr3600v1_webrevert.rar)
2. Download original firmware on the TP Link Homepage
3. Unzip file and flash web interface via the DD WRT
4. The original TP Link flash firmware
5. Now you should be back to the original firmware

Meanwhile, I have 200,000 Internet. Immediately after upgrade I was surprised, because now less arrived as before. Here, the first problem is then encountered. Directly on the modem arrived full connection. I tried long and keep it brief: Only the previous stable release provides the (approximately) 210 Mbit. For all other releases I'm funny enough to lower values. (140 Mbit the latest provide 180 Mbit). The stable release but slightly less Wlan Übertragunsleistung it come now, the phone mind you, only 70 Mbit to. Before there were about 100. The original software managed data throughput WAN> LAN also. Hitherto I could not identify the problem further. The release runs but otherwise perfect.
