This Sony headphones gives great sound. It gives mega-bass on I-kiffe. Mediums are very well transcribed, but, yes, there is a "but": the highs are pretty discreet. I already have a helmet "unnamed" very good sound quality, purchased (the same price as the mdr v55) in a hi-fi accessories store, where there are "clear highs." On the Sony, the highs are audible but are "less developed" than the midrange and bass. I tested the London Grammar (in fomat "flac") on the two helmets, and the result is clear: on my "no-name" with clear highs, I feel she sings for true right next to me. With this Sony, the highs are slightly "muffled". But Sony is still a good helmet. It is even very good, even with its sharp "underdeveloped". As against this sony, the "spatial effect" is very well represented, see much better developed than on my "no-name". I re-discovers all my music with pleasure. So to summarize, the Sony MDR v55, is a super helmet with excelent value. If you want to listen to moceaux with big bass, this headset is for you. By cons, if you want to enjoy the voice of enchentante London Grammar, Lykke Li, Birdy, Lorde, and other kinds of Lana Del Rey, turn to another helmet which will provide the "clear highs"
