1 Sword of Darkness
2. Knight of Darkness
3. Darkness Within
About the story:
Varian is considered one of the most ruthless and powerful knight and Merlins ever. He is thus inherited (right hand of Morgan) and has the magical powers of Adoni the son Narishkas. He is also the son of Lancelot, the Gralritters and Merlin, and has thus mitgeerbt the powers of his line.
As a child, was raised by Varian Narishka a few years until they sent him to Lancelot because she could not do anything with the boy. In Camelot, he was not well received. Varian has to be to much evil to good and to be too good to really bad.
Nevertheless, he considers himself already centuries constant on the good side and lives with the Lords of Avalon, who hate him. Merlin still sees the good in him, uses his dark side, however, by using Varian as "assassins". As Varian parents has in both worlds, he can stay relatively undisturbed both in Camelot and Avalon ... therefore he is tasked to make traitors seek out and kill.
Is found as one of the Grail knights murdered is to be actively involved wiedermal Varian. Morgan has learned by anyone that there are six Gralsritter and all have an identical tattoo on her left shoulder blade. Every Knight knows an indication to the Grail and Morgan craves this power.
Before Varian can learn too much, he is taken tricked and captured by Narishka. Morgan and Narishka will try to break through torture and to draw on their side ... with the torture is clearly Merywyn. A bran servant brings him water and food and touched him so deeply, and weakens as no living being before.
Merywyn is born as a human being and had made centuries ago the mistake of entering into a deal with Narishka. Wanted Merywyn then an arranged marriage out of the way by Narishka she made for a lunar cycle to ugly witch ..... what she does not know: In Camelot exestiert no lunar cycle and Merywyn trapped as ugly woman there forever.
Until the day when she Narishka again offset by them to rush to Varian in its old form. Merewyn gets her life back when it creates Varian to Narishka and Morgan extradite.
Criticism:
Was actually seer liked and I would buy it again.
Especially I was pleased that Blaise was (the Mandrake from Part 1) back with us and everything has brightened up with his big mouth bit. What Varian terms ... so the bad guys Image comes with him just not quite over. He is from the very beginning been rather friendly and kind to its environment ... with exceptions of course. Otherwise gave me as always Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Kinley MacGregor, wordplay liked and had to laugh every now and then aloud. The secondary characters like Derrick, Errick and Merrick (yes really hot so) are also duchaus built well and funny and give us some good laughs. As our heroes (where Morgan all their stored lovers banished back) through the "Valley of No Return" hike there also there to laugh a lot ... I'm just exploding water and "Pit of Despair".
Can thoroughly recommend even though I have only 4 stars distributed the book. One point deduction because Kenyon made some approaches certainly more could have and all but sometimes reads like a mix of the Dark-Hunter series and Brotherhood of the Swoard series ... what is it probably is.
Nevertheless quite recommendable and great entertainment!
