The reason I have the lens but then returned, chromatic aberrations are some of my pictures at 200 mm focal length, high-contrast places (building edges, branches) occurred. This in itself is nothing serious, only this is my opinion, not properly corrected by the camera software. The NEX camera recognizes the Tamron lens as 18-200 but most likely it will be confused with the Sony lens, and therefore also corrected with the wrong values or not properly supported. The Sony lenses everything works fine. (More about can also be found in various English-speaking forums)
Now you can get around this by shooting RAW images, and corrects the error with a suitable lens RAW converter. I do not kanns.
The trouble is that there probably is no support for third-party lenses, as here, the Tamron and Sony.
Finally, I would say that you get a really nice lens with the Tamron 18-200, the beautiful, makes sheep photos. It zooms indeed not always 300% in each picture.
