On your already 5th album from 2009 Montcalm remains loyal to this recipe. Produced and sensitively accompanied by the guitarist Michel Cusson and guest musicians (highlight the breathtaking musical and wild jazz fiddler Jan Luc Ponty at "Le Requien Danse", an original composition Montcalm) raises Montcalm their songs in style across and very varied on the podium. They always feel the special feature of a song on (with the U2-Gassenhauer "Where The Streets Have No Name" for example, the intricate meter and the original rhythm), always finds them (as in the Chanson "C'est Magnifique" by Cole Porter) own musical language. Porter song, for example, is stretched by Montcalm, the "lalalala" gargled almost absurd slowly; the song sounds at once ironic and comedic and fits. When Montcalm sings the popular song "My Baby Just Cares", then she takes indeed a real swing tempo (the song and grooves like hell here too). But she chewed and whispers her husband's sultry portrayal behave that it is not only original but also appropriately sexy sounds like it should be for a real femme fatale. Never it sounds like a lame nachgesungen or interpretation of a good song. This is probably because that Montcalm -the Jazzerin be shy with the avowed penchant for rock before any break in style, before any changes in tempo and in any musical genre break. Like her album Voodoo in 2006, this is an equally musical and entertaining album a very interesting musician. Highly recommended.
