The album 2014: in continuity, but ...

I loved "Blue Lemon" marking to me a real return of Jeanne Mas which was lost in unconvincing projects (country, dance kilometer ...) I liked a little less "Made in France "and this time I still love this new album under" H2eau ".
I have great admiration for Jeanne, last superstar of the 80s to the status of self-produced artisan without ever looking nostalgically to the past, weighing he seems. It is courageous, determined and a fierce independence. Each of his recent albums reflect this personality and sincerity is really touching. It does not specifically trying to seduce, to bow to the fashions of the moment, to the "tube", she knows that it will be broadcast anywhere. She writes and composes songs like him first.
So why only three stars? Because this album has a "repetition" side in many ways: the overall averages songs, melodies scent of deja vu, sometimes poor and clumsy words, with "ticks" of pesky writing (these songs address nominative, slightly shabby: Joel and Pablo this time ...), a glaring inconsistency in the particular arrangements. There is in my opinion perfectly horrifying songs ("The skirt" ridiculous especially in the chorus, "Wild" eco-moralistic song that closes the album with the finesse of a juggernaut ... that's good because talks elephant, "Accelerate" song spoken / sung typical of a certain vein of rock a little Jeanne), others are touching, those that leave most show sensitivity skin Jeanne flower " Aurore "," I "," A Cockroach "and for me, the only real success of this album, the beautiful piano-vocal ballad" Naked "where Joan proves overwhelming while simplicity.
Some beautiful flashes through this album, and that's already a lot. In my eyes, not the most essential album of Jeanne, but an album touching even in its imperfections.
And obviously intact pleasure to find that sweet voice, sensual and rebellious, a voice that does not age.
I think the total freedom of Jeanne is also paradoxically lack perspective on what it proposes. The art direction is lacking, both musically and visually.
