I loved this book, which shares with us the true story of this range "healthy carrier" of typhoid victim and misunderstanding of his time this unexpected and then unknown concept: wear a disease and pass without being yourself sick. I liked the descriptions of New York in 1900; one almost feels odors and visualized places they are so well described. There are probably some unnecessary lengths, but the whole is enjoyable to read ... and oppressive sometimes when we think that this woman must feel quarantine without understanding why! One downside: the book is built by successive flashback and chronology is sometimes a bit difficult to follow ... Very interesting.
