In my collection of photographs can be found over the years a lot of photos from different cameras - DSLR inclusive.
Are the photos of the expensive cameras automatically better? No.
Good photographs are made first and foremost in the mind of the photographer, the rest is not much more than a light-tight box with sensor and memory card in it. ;-)
For Nikon S9400:
Processed fine and high quality, fits comfortably in your hand and is easy to use without manual.
In any manual spoekes for the photographer who wants to "ambitious" occur Nikon has waived - and that is how I find no disadvantage.
Because frankly but adjusting the iris in these small Sensörchen is pointless anyway and manually long exposures produce normally. these sensor sizes violent color noise and unusable pictures.
Much more important because rational scene modes and precisely to this concept is the Nikon S9400 / 9500th
And in addition to the standards and a program for night recording also such beautiful things as low-key / High-Key are, with whom you can play around gorgeous - and the photos bring that one would not necessarily associate with a compact camera.
Image quality:
Well what this is actually - this picture quality ??
Is the evaluation of image quality that "As long as the photo zoom until I find something to complain about" or looking at the pictures on your notebook, on your iPad or in the photobook?
For me it's the latter.
And when I look at the photos on the iPad (retina) come the way it should be.
Sharp, even to some extent in the picture corners, good texture sharpness, clean tuned noise reduction and how Nikon usual pleasant, warm colors of JPEGs.
And if that's not like that may let off steam with image processing such as Snapseed (Tip for the ipad !!!) until the doctor comes ...
Anything negative found?
Not really, except for the fact that 18 MP again much more than anyone needs, and the lens can not provide the resolution anyway, but this criticism can be applied to virtually any compact camera.
Who wants to have fewer megapixels must take in hand more money (precious Compact). Of course, this is nonsense,
but as the market works now times - finally Nikon will also still sell the P330 and P7700 ... ;-)
My Conclusion:
The S9400 is a fine and valuable Compact class with the usual image quality, good service and really useful scene modes. For "Always with you" perfect.
Cameras for the showcase there elsewhere for 10 times as much money. But just stupid when the new items do not have it ...
