I find them comfortable, even after long listening time, and I think the sound quality is excellent (very good bass, too). Even if they can cover annoying noise, they do not completely isolate the outside world either (at reasonable listening volume, that is), and do not let the sound escape, I considers a 'more' important.
The volume control on the wire is more a gadget (except mobile use).
For against, the housing is useful for protecting the helmet during transport. This will extend the cable life (constantly unravel the knots eventually damage the connections, what happened on my previous headset).
Moreover it is a very good quality headphones, cheap, and strong, who survived a bath in a cup of coffee.
Only problem, the cable, which is a bit too short.
