Billy Ocean was born on 01/21/1952 at Trinidad. He grew up in London's East End, and starred with his tailor's apprenticeship in the famous Savile Row early 70s in London amateur pop bands like "Shades of Blue" and "Dry Ice". 1976 came out his debut album "Billy Ocean". The second single "Love Really Hurts Without You" reached # 2 on the British charts and number 22 in the US. This was followed by more hits, including "LOD (Love On Delivery)". Ocean also wrote pieces for other artists, such as for LaToya Jackson. In 1982 he had with "Nights (Feel Like Gettin 'Down)" a hit in the US R & B charts.

His greatest success came in 1984 with Billy Ocean "Caribbean Queen" from the album "Suddenly" (here not included). Depending on the world region of the title has been adjusted so that the song was known to us as "European Queen". The album "Love Zone" from 1986 sold many copies, the singles "When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going" (from the movie: On the hunt for the jewel of the Nile) and "There'll Be Sad Songs ( To Make You Cry) "were Top Ten hits in the US and UK. In 1988, the album "Tear Down These Walls" with the hit "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car". After that it was quiet around Billy Ocean. He brought in 1993 another album "Time to move on" out, but that high could not build on his songs of the 80's. I give it 5 stars, although on this CD the most hits of the 80s but still missing almost all existing songs are absolutely amazing. Few singers can claim to have released albums with little attention anyway so great songs.
