First of all, the Jerky from Good Conow now comes in a new package. It's still a resealable ziplock-pack, you can tear up. Too bad that all new packages that I was delivered by Amazon got the edge for tearing up too far, so that the package remained closed if you wanted to rip open normal. Nice if you're at home and has prepared a pair of scissors, bad if you are traveling, because this package is highly resistant. You have the pack from the start tearing diagonally above the ziplock Strip, otherwise it is a case for the scissors.
Tough is also the meat itself, which mostly consists of very thin, very fibrous "slices". My "Kautechnik" looks like that I "entlangknabbere" on the fibrillation of the flesh. So you get even chewed the toughest pieces, otherwise it reminds of the consistency of the strength of tough cartilage, namely to about 80%. At 20 consumed packs I had some here, who were on average easier to chew, but usually that was not the case. In a natural product such as beef some variation is inevitable, but the consistency of "tough" far outweighed. If one takes a bit in his mouth and tried to chew, the small one is just as good try at a Beinscheibe. It tastes pretty good for beef, not too pushy, not too sweet: The taste, as you would expect from a "classic" is. Eben tidy. But it's nothing special, the high elasticity does not inspire a lot of joy. If you have a package Conower Classic "chewed", you can really move mountains. Namely, with the pines, who then already exercise.
From nutritional me Conower Classic TO TOP appeared as one of the better jerky: fewer carbohydrates (according to the homepage "only" 10.4 g / 100 g) with relatively good taste. The Jack Link's has in comparison between 20 and 30 percent sugar content, which I find quite considerably. The new bags Gut Conow has the sugar share by almost half adjusted upward: 14.5 g / 100g. However, The Jerky still tastes the same, on the homepage you will also find still the same values on the packaging but it was adjusted. This suggests definitely not good, I would like to have assured that the nutritional information also correspond to the truth.
Here, the Indiana Jerky with only 1g carbohydrate per 100g of the better nutritional value and is also suitable as part of a low carb diet. From the consistency and taste (especially in the "peppered" version), it is also significantly better.
I eat beef jerky as a snack between meals (instead of "Knabberkram") as part of a health diet to between supply me proteins include without additional carbohydrates. Conower Jerky is there for me third choice as there is neither taste outstanding, yet convinced of the nutritional values ago. I am just still too much sugar in it. Additives such as monosodium glutamate are irrelevant to me, monosodium glutamate comes in very many foods naturally before, uA eat the Japanese for 1,500 years in the form of seaweed, for me so there is no cause for alarm. Many raise the Conower Jerky out that it does not contain these additives, but it contains at any rate preservatives and sugar. In packs of Good Conow are interestingly different from all other jerky no note with antioxidants in the package. The not to eat but with anyway.
My special recommendation goes to the Wild West Beef Peppered Nuggets, who are also carbohydrate-reduced, really taste very good and are also pleasant to chew. Strictly speaking, this is not jerky, but comparable to the product of dried beef. The taste and consistency of the "Black Mountain Peppered" a house number! It is the driest of all Jerkies, ie quasi breaks during chewing, but is then very soft and very fragrant within a few seconds! Whoever once had the do not want Conower Jerky more. The only real plus point at Conower Jerky is that it comes from Germany, long transport routes are avoided from overseas. The manufacturer of Conow activities but very well to reduce the amount of carbohydrates and introduce variants which consist of thicker, softer pieces that are easier to chew. Large minus points are the new packaging with the too high up scheduled tear-and the wrong (inconsistent) nutritional information. Considering that its much better beef jerky to the most favorable prices on offer are thus the product of good Conow of mine receives a below average score of only 2 stars.
