by now catchier use of Sony MDR-HW700DS 9.1 Digital Surround system headphones I want to ask my review available.
I personally very much like most headphones, I want to apologize already in advance that my review perhaps a little more detail fails.
If you do not want to read a lot, you my short conclusion could possibly be enough. Otherwise, I wish you much perseverance, but who want to invest a lot of money, should be able to expect a hopefully sufficiently informative review. Here we go ...
Perceived quality / packaging:
The headset and the associated transmission unit are supplied in a sufficiently large packaging. The first impression is very good. The headphones feel very valuable. It comes with an illustrated guide that is understandable for laymen in my opinion. If an accessory is required, this will also appear in the instructions. There is also a USB cable for charging on the PC as well as a 1.5 meter optical cable.
The power supply capacity for charging the wireless headphones is given as 2.5W. Whoever has for example a smart phone, the USB cable can also plug in the charge and in the power supply. These are usually supplied with a 5-watt power supply. The battery lasts about 12 hours, according to Sony. This value can I sign so readily. Charging via USB cable takes about 3 hours, about 5 watt power supply 1.5 hours.
Quality headphone / control:
As mentioned above, the headset is processed very valuable. The ear cushions are pressure relieving and thus very soft. They adapt to the head very well. The weight of the headset is about 400 grams. On the left there is the On / Off button. On the right side can adjust the volume, adjust effects and change the HDMI channel. After some training you will find the appropriate keys well and intuitively.
Coverage:
Sony provides a range of 30 meters. I could walk in my house up to the first floor and listen to my music. If one is out of reach, this will be notified by a beep and abruptly interrupted. Who just lives in a smaller apartment, is suspected in almost every corner can still enjoy music. Depending on the masonry wall thickness and this can of course vary.
Connectivity:
The transmitter unit has 3 HDMI inputs, 1 HDMI output, 1 analog and 1 digital input.
Here is an example: You take the HDMI cable from the Blu-Ray player to the input of the transmission unit. Using another HDMI cable then you go from the HDMI output in the Sound Receiver. Now you have established a connection and, if you remain in my example, listen to a CD or course (for which the headset is primarily intended) to watch a Blu-ray movie.
If the transmitter unit is in standby mode, the signal is also looped through. It is important to note that all of the audio (if digitally and not via jack happens) are transmitted completely uncompressed. There is therefore no loss of quality to the ear.
How then is the sound?
Depending on the output quality of the sound is really great. Who will look for example Avatar or a similar sound-heavy movie to be really excited. The location works absolutely superb. The surround sound comes across vividly. The bass is very crisp, the mids and highs are also available. I can not report anything negative here.
In Cinema mode when inserted Blu-Ray the maximum volume is my feeling after very high.
In music mode (Voice Stereo mode) comes the music played on the Blu-Ray player, as clearly over. But here I had to get used to the sound a bit, because otherwise I enjoy very much about wired headphones my music myself. At first it sounds a bit dull, but the intension of a wireless headset, it will never be to compete with a wired headset. However, I am now delighted here.
Which in turn is not working playing SACD's in multichannel mode. This is a minor drawback, which I will not let it in the standings with incorporated, as this would probably have been used only by a few people for me.
Wireless Headphones interfere with the wireless?
This I know sometimes my Sennheiser RS180, although this rarely occurred with me. The advantage of Sony headphones is due to the fact that it works at 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Thus, disturbing the wireless network should belong to the past. I personally did not have a single misfire.
What else I noticed?
-The Attached to the headset keys to control the transmission unit, etc. are easily accessible.
-The Volume control is running in my opinion a bit too smoothly. If you do not rotate smoothly on the wheel, the volume goes pretty quickly upwards.
-if You the headphones settles, it goes quite quickly in the standby mode. But after renewed placing he is very quickly ready for use.
-The Headphones are already equipped to meet the 4K future because he 4K video content to corresponding playback devices (4K TVs or projectors) can spend in original quality.
My personal test with headphone amplifiers:
I connected via jack my FiiO E17 headphone amplifier on my iPod Classic. Thus, the volume range is much higher and even there rattles or creaks nothing. I am aware that the connection via jack is not perfect, but I could not find a cable despite visiting several hifi stores that I could connect via my FiiO E17 headphone amplifier at the transmitter unit. Who here has a tip, may I this of course very happy to report in the comments.
Conclusion:
Quality has its price. This is not without, but the overall concept and the implementation of Sony's more than succeeded. The sound comes across vividly and harmonious. Bass, middle and treble are constantly perfect present. Who wants to be on good terms with its neighbors, now has the opportunity to realize with relatively simple means a very good sound. The headphones are very comfortable and looks more chic. Now, after more than 50 hours of use, I am very excited and can recommend the Sony Wireless Headphones hesitation.
If I win new findings in the coming weeks and months, I will extend my review to the effect, of course.
