The Blur

The front is made of aluminum, the bottom metal (presumably steel). The rest of the housing consists of plastic. The glossy cover, in glass optics, lifts the appearance. The feet look beautiful and make the device a secure stand. The volume control is also made of aluminum (possibly only an aluminum casing) and feels dibasic. Overall, the UD-H01 makes a solid impression.

To use the Teac, a small driver software must be installed. These can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.

- Sound

The Teac sounds quite balanced, however, raises the upper middle of something. This sounds but generally fairly consistent and not intrusive.

The sound is relaxed and soft.
Details are not entirely lost, however, often lack them to contour.
The stage turns out rather small, but knows how to please. The separation of instruments succeeds not perfect and usually, a harmonious picture still arises.

- Note

The Teac has an increased output impedance on all outputs. This can lead to a distortion of the sound curve. Low impedance headphones are particularly affected. This should be considered before buying.

- Conclusion

Overall, the Teac delivers a solid performance.
The case is attractively designed, and the price (about 280) seems fair.
The high output impedance should still keep in mind, if you have the right to operate and low impedance headphones.

- Alternative

Anyone who sets high on details and this would have presented absolutely precise, should the Asus Xonar Essence One look at more.
