The lens also has the ability to play with the depth of field. The G9 can not so pretty, I think. The autofocus is reliable, sometimes a bit stubborn only in the macro range. Here, however, can help the setting to MF and use the built-in magnifier.
Operation is intuitive (since I already have a Canon previously owned hab), only for the WLAN function I had to look into the relating online PDF manual. The ability to transfer photos from the camera on your mobile phone, is a nice feature. Just as the ability to use the phone as a remote shutter release. Not essential, but nice.
"Vital" is for me rather then the possibility of the camera manually to use and affect the exposure according to my wishes. Not always has the "Auto" setting the result, I imagine.
The disadvantage I find the folding flash, which - as one of my Vorrezensenten already mentioned - is at a point where it can not show the normal camera use. Because there namely one or more fingers on it are. Until now, there has not yet bothered me, since I'm not a fan of flash pictures anyway and prefer exploiting the available light as much as possible. Perhaps the position of the folding flash also has the advantage that in situations where, in interfering with a flash, to prevent this.
A nice gimmick is the setting "Creative Shooting". Here at each triggering 5-6 different pictures are taken: different sections, focal lengths and color gimmicks (similar to Instagram once Polaroid-style, once Sepia, once more bluish) and puts this together into a kind of collage.
The camera was sold as part of a promotion from Amazon along with a free camera bag. This is very (too) heavily padded and as I think a lot too large (although they are available in different formats, you have here "large" packed with this). But a gift horse and so .... I therefore do not use.
All in all, a nice camera that all 'can do what I need and also many can do what I need. It is small and slim design and fits perfectly into the purse and is always there. While this is true for the mobile phone as well, but then there are still between these photo opportunities worlds :-).
