Super Mario Galaxy set new standards for the Super Mario universe. Especially implemented tricky and fun was the system with gravity and the idea to set the level in several galaxies and planets. The "main base" was a spaceship from there one could reach in the different worlds and that alone reminded me in principle to the good old Super Mario 64. There was, however, the castle of Peach. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, however, we reject this system completely and makes every level on a map (map) can be selected, ie one flies with mario spaceship through this and can enter directly into an accessible Galaxy / Level. You can run around in the mario spaceship and discover a lot here and there but it is not somehow the same. That's a shame because this exploration as described in Part 1 made so far always a huge attraction. Exploring the galaxy itself also takes a bit off compared to part 1. As others have mentioned here, the search takes place for the stars linear. The level design itself is very close to its predecessor and even here I have to admit that it is sometimes (but only sometimes) feels like a rehash. Really great innovations are some skills through new power items such. B. Rock Mario. I celebrate, as well as many others, especially the Yoshi is one of the party. Through his skill you really get one or two times variety offered. For my taste, you could have told him even spendieren often NEN appearance. Flashbacks to Super Mario World and Yoshi's Iceland are inevitable there. The music and the sound effects are a treat for the ears, no doubt. Sometimes there are especially in music recognition to recent games of the Super Mario series. If you have completed the main game and the princess freed, the fun continues. To finish the game completely, you need the first 120 stars, followed by the challenge in each galaxy to collect all the green star. You get offered a lot here. All in all, I think Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a little lighter than the predecessor. However, it may also be because I've played me the first part as it were warm. There are certainly some level but that are really hard with a little practice and the full use of the skills of Mario, one succeeds even after the umpteenth attempt. Super Mario Galaxy 2 has, despite some weaknesses much for Mario and Jump n Run fans. There are here and there some new to see but also recognize a lot. I recommend any novice still only play the first part, this remains personally beat me. Nevertheless, this one is fully recommended :).
