Having now active use for over a year Wii Fit, I realized that the motivation for an increasing number of leaves. So I was put in search of an alternative, the more momentum again on my Balance Board.
EA Sports Active seemed made for it, so it was reserved by me and delivered as usual at Amazon Released by mail.
After the postman was through, it was said: purely in the sports outfit and unpacked the new "silver bullet".
The kit includes the DVD, the leg strap and the elastic band. Short feedback this:
* The leg strap is very well made, the material feels good
and he wears well on thighs without tightening or disrupt in any other way.
* The rubber band has yet to be "mounted" before the first use. This is using the instructions also very easy on the hand. Band via the supplied handles Laying, pull it through your loop, tighten ... done. Even the band, or the loops are well made and are also larger force attack safely survive.
After the equipment is ready, the DVD may be in the Wii and we go.
When you first start you will be prompted to create a profile (or log on with a guest pass) this requires a gender, body size and weight.
There also my first little disappointment appeared. The weight has to be entered by the user itself and accordingly adjusted continuously manually. The Balance Board does not act Unfortunately, when Libra.
The created profile can be machined into a "perfect" Alter Ego by means of various settings, such as hair color, height, stature. In addition, the figure can still customize with various outfits and accessories such as sunglasses, hats etc..
Now you can start at last.
Either one does not make a short detour to the diary, immediately starts the 30 day challenge or choose one of the many pre-made workouts ....
... I have the route via the diary wrapped.
The diary provides a kind of companion for "Walk into a fitter life" is. You have to answer daily questions about nutrition, other athletic activities, and general well-being.
The questions relate to the previous day, and depending on the answers feed them into the review of the day. Gold, silver or bronze are up for grabs. Of course, the whole thing is a certain diary honesty towards themselves ahead ... but it does the job.
Finally have 30 days workout begins ... only decide shortly what intensity you want (easy / medium / difficult) and whether the Balance Board to be included in his workout.
The Workouts:
The coach / trainer explains briefly what are priorities on the agenda today. Basically, the workouts are aimed at 3 areas of the body, upper body, lower body and lungs (condition), also displays how long the workout will last inclusive tutorial videos ...
... The exercises themselves are very well explained and go well out of hand. Whether with leg strap, elastic, or board, they are varied and appeal to a lot of different muscle groups.
Very positive to mention is that you get together a workout every day and not have to click as with Wii Fit by individual exercises.
Before the workout a forecast of the expected calories burned during the workout is set up, which is then compared at the end with the fact the achieved consumption.
This is, however, calculated on the basis of previously stored in the profile body features, plus there is always absolutely necessary to manually adjust the body weight. Here one wishes as Wii Fit Balance Board users the convenience of balance ...
Conclusion:
EA Sports Active is a successful "alternative" to Wii Fit.
It appeals to many parts of the body good, makes a lot of fun and brings a really sweat.
The accessories are well made, makes a solid impression and enhances the value and fun of workouts tremendously.
Unfortunately, the balance board is used for my taste too little. Where the question arises here whether the entire board of the resources (such as the functional scale) at the moment by developments can be exploited "Nintendo" Not at all.
For me, EA Sports Active is a good product which will make it safely to tie me up again for a long time on my Balance Board. I will certainly make this also good services on the way to my summer and figure some things which I sorely miss in Wii Fit, offers.
My recommendation ... buy!
+ Train together with friends and family
+ Accessories sold separately for
+ Good integration of leg strap and rubber band in the exercises
+ Workouts are compiled from the trainer.
- Balance Board not fully integrated into workouts
- No integrated scale function
- Success is not really measurable, documented only because of questions to be answered in the diary
