This album shows a clear improvement on the first two albums of the band! Depeche Mode sound henceforth harder and uncompromising. The cover suggests this change to have. A soundscape of sampled metal sounds creates a bit strange, eerie and powerful, transparent atmosphere. A for that time totally innovative and daring work from a single source. The sound of the album has survived to this day, because all the other albums of Depeche Mode still carry a core of this disc in itself. All compositions are absolutely worth hearing and completely timeless despite extreme sampling. "Construction Time Again" is one of the best albums of the band, because too obscure and fresh the guys sounded ever again! Experimentation and sonic playfulness are hallmarks of this album. In that time this seemed cheeky, provocative and aneckend. Here sounded ahead of the guys even her time is light years, so much too alien and strange to the average listener. Who "Construction Time Again" rose up shortly after the release, who knows what I'm talking! Especially "pipeline" was to offer obliqueness barely. Depeche Mode made in 1983 musically what they wanted, regardless of commercial success! From today's perspective this early work still sounds very interesting and cool, and the songs never seem to wear off! The sound is very special for me and not to consume at any time, I have to be in a particular mood. Nevertheless, it's one of my big favorites of the band, because everything is just right! A sooo fitting, unmistakeable cover, catchy melodies, which are rotated by a bulky sound. This contrast was never so striking as on this album. Today's young fans of the band can imagine what this album meant back then hardly !? "Construction Time Again" the taste of the wide audience was far ahead! Only much later term the masses what the band created here eigendlich! Over the decades, the time Depeche Mode took a, other bands were considered innovative, but this album was certainly one of the pioneers of modern music! "Construction Time Again" is the favorite work of many very old fans of the band, which I can understand perfectly. It is the last album, where the band is still a "indie character" adheres because Depeche Mode was still underground and so they sound. Gahan, Gore, and Fletcher Wilder were still quite young scrubber that in Berlin created this milestone in music history together with Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones! "Construction Time Again" is a very interesting album full of pearls from the early days of Depeche Mode. Very strong buy recommendation!
