Call the Midwife: A True Story of the East End in the 1950s (Paperback)

Customer Review

Fan of the BBC series inspired this book, I wanted to discover the original. It exceeded my expectations, it's even better than the series, including more realistic, we learn a lot about London in the 1950s while having a good time with engaging characters.

The book is written in first person, it is actually a highly autobiographical. Jennifer Worth has a real talent as a storyteller: the facts she recalls vividly and humorous without unnecessary detours. She wrote the book fairly recently, so she puts into perspective the 1950s compared to what we know now.

A must read!
