After some searching I found Sip & Seed and was immediately impressed. Food and water from a station even to saw it off nicely: It was already ordered.
Delivery by Amazon again quickly and exemplary. The product was very securely packed with plenty of bubble wrap.
What I discovered when I had the bubble wrap away was great: So a good quality product I have in this price range (I paid 35 for the station) rarely seen. Had some well-known brand such as Eva Solo or Blomus made this feeding station just it would cost 80-100 determines there ;-)
The containers are made of really thick glass and the metal parts are processed clean and tidy. Only the lock and the inside of the drip tray are well in order to ensure a longer shelf life here when these parts are made of plastic, easily in contact with water. Wherein the plastic parts are but color matched to the copper-optics and therefore not attract attention.
A positive feature is the size immediately apparent: Fully suspended the station about 60cm high, 40cm and 16cm deep ready. So really alone in terms of size an eye-catcher.
The aforementioned plastic closures are then also special about this station. They can be similarly adjusted as spice shakers to different positions and thus open the container 1) closing 2) for water and 3) for open chuck. The first position is used to insert the filled container without already which runs out or -fällt. After that, the opening so that the filling can get out. For water, the opening is smaller, larger for forage. Through this clever idea can the two containers so use flexible as you want: you can offer the birds feed or 2x 2x water - or it provides both food and water to.
Small drawback at this point: If the opening is closed when all pouring water, although some water out ... so it closes not completely sealed. Therefore you should always pour water just above a sink.
In the containers incidentally fit about 800ml water / feed into it so you have a long rest and does not have to fill up every few days.
Furthermore, this station the lining protects absolutely against moisture. Most of the food is protected in the container and completely, only the few food that can come out below are wet in the rain. However, since only a little food is concerned, it can also dry quickly if it gets wet. Even if you put water available, this is wonderfully protected in the container: no dirt or insects get into it, the water stays clean. And since only a little water is coming out at once really just for drinking and animated not to bathe in the birds.
The station is indeed only depends on a hook on, but the whole is very well balanced and the station is stable in the air. Wind brings little wiggle into and even if they do not mind birds land begins to tap on. The station also receives not overweight and not tilted abruptly to one side away when several birds land on one side.
Conclusion: This is in my opinion the perfect feeding station for wild birds. You can safely land on it and have a good grip. The birds can always provide you with clean water and dry food. In addition, it is also for the people practically as easy to handle (filling and cleaning is super easy - let if necessary, at least the glass container in the dishwasher). And last but not least is the station also nice to look at. If this station buy at any time.
======================
Update: The feeding station is now in use for several weeks. Unfortunately, I have to say that in a lot of rain and without dry and reasonably warm phases between that rainwater, which enters the bowl, can not wegtrocknen. So I had to create several hand and tip out the water every day. What actually is anyway not so great. When I was not at the weekend then Zuhaus, no one could pour out the water so that the water for days stood in the bowl and began to germinate the lowest grains. Thus, the openings were blocked and there was no food for more ... so that meant: First remove the germinating grains. So ... unfortunately there is a little star deduction because a feeding station so rainwater should not take - Drainage holes were there probably have been advisable, but these are not available. Who wants to hang up so the feeder-free, which should drill itself into the bowl such drainage holes. I for my part have the station just keep hanging Unters canopy so that the feed is no longer wet.
