After I actually went until 2012 with my old cassette recorder at festivals and this is now really slow no longer can, I've been looking for an easy solution ... Mp3
... And apparently found!
Operation with USB key is functioning smoothly, my stick is immediately recognized incl. The created folder. Furthermore, the random function and the ID3 tag display works without Beantstandungen. The main function is therefore executed fully.
The device appears to be stable, there is a good shoulder strap and a central and stable grip.
10 D batteries fit into the device and promise long operating time (I hope, we'll see ...). Is very good that you can switch on the back of the device completely, so that the standby mode is bypassed. This helps ensure the batteries.
The radio does not have a good reception, at least in my apartment. The antenna is very short. For the weather but it is rich. Otherwise, yes, we have MP3 ...
The sound of the unit is quite sufficient Festival claims. For my room, however, I would make up my mind for another product.
A little bit I miss already the cassette deck. But is probably pure nostalgia ....
For Festival purposes I forgive - first impression - 5 stars.
For stationary operation but you should probably decide otherwise prefer.

UPDATE after Hurricane Festival:
The rating of 5 * is, but the following comments:
The AEG-device you're at a festival very good about it. Volume default, it has our 20-person camp really well looked after. The neighbors hardly reached the sound, however. With a converted car radio this device can not compete.
The display is not visible in bright conditions.
The bass performance is still somewhat meager, but only notice when you really want to hear beats. In Rock / Punk / Metal me the thin bass is not noticed.
When bass you realize then that the boxes are not as great as they seem at first.
Although 10 batteries appear much, so you should plan necessarily 20 batteries for a 3/4-day festival.
Who wants to hear CD, should not take much more batteries. We have heard almost exclusively USB (worked well!). In the short time in which we heard CD, much juice was obviously exhausted.
Suggestion for the product:
A storage compartment for USB sticks would be handy. Place in plastic monster seems to be abundant.
