One can easily imagine the shock felt qu''ont jazz fans astray there to see and hear all these out of their smoky blues clubs in Chicago.
Skeptical and distant at first, the audience begins to react from "I feel good", and goes into a trance on "I''ve got my mojo working", played again by the force of things. Admittedly n''a Muddy Waters played almost as unavoidable, interspersed with all Recent titles but somewhat away the whole of its original roughness to coat his pieces' jazzy arrangements, circumstances oblige.
The backing band is developed, led by two sizes, the harmonica player James Cotton and pianist Otis Spann which closes the concert with the song on "Goodbye Newport Blues". Just missing the alter ego and main songwriter of Muddy Waters, bassist Willie Dixon.
In the bonus level are pieces on this reissue studio recorded a few days earlier. And best of all, impeccable remastering gives a big sound in this historic performance.
