Still Crazy After All These Years (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Still Crazy After All These Years" - this very catchy song has been selected for Paul Simon's 4th solo album; and will of course immediately brought to the madness-opener and title track of the CD in conjunction: A wonderful, soothing number in the right places of the right instruments accompanied (a string ensemble directs the brilliant saxophone solo a). The song will be carried forward at a slow pace and in 6/8-time, just like the bittersweet "Some folks live performance Rolleasy" and the mysterious and seemingly quiet "Silent Eyes", two other highlights of the album.
Paul Simon has greatly evolved compared to his previous works "Paul Simon" and "Rhymin 'Simon'.
Apparently he has "warmed up" to the already strong predecessors, tinkering with different styles and arrangements, as well as its own style developed (classic folk-rock, with a variety of elements, from jazz to gospel to pop enriched), and then with "Still crazy. .. "(1975) and the subsequent" One Trick Pony "(1980) to publish two unsurpassed masterpieces of this kind.
Other notable pieces from "Still crazy ..":
"My Little Town", the last real Simon & Garfunkel song (available on solo albums of both performers); "I do it for your love", a melancholic song for Dahinschwelgen; adulterers anthem "50 ways to leave your lover" and the somber "Night Game", on Paul Simon's song only from a classical fingerpicking (with a! electric guitar! played!) and a decent harmonica accompanied.
All in all, "Still Crazy After All These Years" the first of many milestones in Paul Simon's solo career after the split of Artie Garfunkel, which offers ingenious arrangements and a soothing effect and atmosphere.
