Had only a Focusrite 18i20 but the drivers for Mac could not be used. 8-track recording was reliable only with 44.1 kHz and the sample rate changes had to be the thing several times on and turn off. Sound of outputs and preamps was okay. Hab was to compare the buy Steinberg UR44 and already impressed by the jacks, the jack plug slides in and raced smoothly but firmly. The pots are not too smooth and all the same the feeling ago. In the blind test (2 identical microphones, same placement, different computer to record) was superior to the Focusrite's high house. The preamps have more bass, more treble even more dynamic, what you have noticed especial in tambourine.
The DSP effects are great (the guitar amp rather useless but still no latency), the outputs have an excellent stereo image (not the least crosstalk and precise phase) and the drivers and software mixer are usable and absolutely stable on Windows and Mac.
I also think that the clip-LEDs a little earlier warned al 0dB. When a recording they have flashed briefly, but the recording was not overridden. I think there are still 6 dB place upward when the LEDs should flash briefly. The software mixer's then shows exactly.
Have already highly recommended 2 people and are quite happy with. The Focusrite was sent back.
