The 20/20 Experience- The Complete Experience (Audio CD)

Customer Review

It took some time - took exactly 7 years before the new Justin Timberlake - Album has been released. With "The 20/20 Experience 1" Justin Timberlake has enjoyed a huge success and is well on the way to lie the erfolreichste album in 2013 - after the long break definitely not a foregone conclusion.
However, the success is justified because Timberlake has really evolved a more mature sound and represents has also risen vocally. However, the success is clearly attributable not only Timberlake, because a certain Tim Mosley aka Timbaland has produced the entire album, and gave him his own touches, although quite a few have it already completely written off - wrongly!

Part 1 consists of mostly many quiet songs with soul and R'n'B influences such as "Suit & Tie" or "Spaceship Coupe", but from chart-compatible songs like "Mirrors" and "Tunnel Vision" and dance numbers á la "Let The Groove Get It In ". What many, including me, did not like is that the songs all have a significant excess length and often last for 8 minutes. But sometimes that's überlüssig, often necessary in order to understand the full perfection of the songs. Best example: "Mirrors". The song with 8:05 minutes the longest of the album should be, you hardly notice because the whole thing was so well packed. The great thing is that almost all songs have completely different sounds and it gets boring on the whole never. A big compliment to Timbaland, who in the background celebrates a great comeback here.
Even the appeared only half a year later second part is produced by Timbaland and also sounds like part 1 in many sections - is nevertheless different. Again, all the songs a certain excess length from 5 to 9 minutes - which sometimes interfere, but often fits well and the songs a length of 3-4 minutes would not be justified. The biggest difference between 1 & 2 is the pace of the songs; many have an up-tempo sound and are not as soul-heavy as its predecessor. The songs - as many claim - only Outtakes of Part 1 are, not true at all - they are the same high quality to be considered. Therefore, it is also a pity that the album is not even half as good as sold part 1, but it is probably that the 2nd part is definitely born prematurely in the market and because the singles "Take Back The Night" and "TKO" strong but are not suitable for radio.

Now for the songs in the Player Ratings:

Part 1:

01- Pusher Love Girl 10/10
This song ignites immediately. Produced with large orchestra, sounds of this song as a cool soul number that would have worked well 50 years ago. Timberlake's high vocals is really second to none.

02- Suit & Tie (feat. Jay Z)
Best Song of the entire experience and the comeback single. Mainly in America and not Europe a huge hit because it is classic R'n'B easy, meet perfectly the instrumental and vocal. Jay Z is also significantly better than usual here.

03- Do not Hold The Wall 9.5 / 10
Here wirds experimentally. The sound reminds one of a gloomy jungle. Very made unusual, but you have to say: It works!

04- Strawberry Bubblegum 8/10
Music to relax. Chillout halt. Is significantly advised too long, but still sounds really good, happens to be not a real highlight that one musss remember

Tunnel Vision 05- 10/10
A Timberlake Single and nobody notices what of it? Yes, because the adult-oriented video was hardly aired and almost simultaneously "Take Back The Night" was already on the market. Here, this song is from the production of the very best of the album and quite simply a OHRgasmus.

Spaceship Coupe 06- 9/10
Another one bit gechillter, overlong song like "Strawberry Bubblegum", but to listen a little better and more exciting.

07- That Girl 9/10
Short (relative to the rest of course), very successful championed by Timberlake on his wife. Power also mood.

08- Do not Hold The Wall 10/10
Here is truly reminiscent of a mass-market Dance song by Michael Jackson (eg HIStory or They Do not Care About Us). The title will repeat Felt 100x, but it will not slow. No, this song is even the most diverse and most exciting track on the CD! Hightlight.

09- 10/10 Mirrors
The only single with worldwide smash hit. Naturally, the song is in fact, despite its-long perfect radio song with soulful singing and eingänigen Chorus. Therefore also a highlight for the people who expect on this album many chart hits.

10- Blue Ocean Floor 10/10
Said overhead is a Einschlafnummer. However, this song moves me every time very. Very relaxed and soulful singing and a perfect end to part. 1

Bonus Tracks:

11- Dress On 9.5 / 10
Not produced by Timbaland, still with Timbaland as a rapper here. A quiet number and a typical bonus track. Nevertheless, indispensable for the album.

12- Bodycount 10/10
This peppy number is at the end really again a hightlight and would fit well on "FutureSex / LoveSounds". All those who have not heard this song, miss one of the best songs on the whole album.

Part 2

01- Gimme What I Do not Know (I Want) 10/10
Perfect opening track, the stands for the rest of the album. Bold, groovy and very good sound.

02- True Blood 9/10
Sounds almost like "SexyBack", just a bit unusual and experimental. Actually a hightlight - only much, much too long-winded with 9 minutes of playing time - 5 could easily enough!

03- Cabaret (feat. Drake) 10/10
Too bad that there was no single release. The song sounds very chilling, hate a good hook and with the Drake zz best rappers in America at the start. Highlight.

04- TKO 9/10
Was first did not like, but now I find the 2 single really succeeded. Aggressive Beat, good basic tempo and the way a cool music video. Nevertheless, there are better tracks.

05- Take The Back Night 10/10
1. Single and at the same time the best song on the album. Sounds course gewohlt to MJ, but Timberlake does a good job here. Feel-good guarantee and you really feel like at night in a big city. The song not megahit like "Suit & Tie" or "Mirrors" was, perhaps is because the promotion was not the best, because at the same time "Tunnel Vision" was published by the predecessor or because Chris Brown earlier with "Fine China" was also on the trip MJ.

06- Murder 9/10
Probably the simplest song on the album. Goes from good, but is not very creative. From Jay-Z there is little heard. Still nice.

07- Drink You Away (10/10)
3. Highlight (and also 3rd single?), Because it sounds very different from the songs previously and from 1 part. Country rock paired with Timbo-beats and a concise chorus. Here Justin Timberlake shows his artistic diversity in the full cast.

08- You Got It On (8.5 / 10)
First correct R'n'B number, unfortunately rather a Albumfiller. Timberlake's singing is the highlight here.

09- Amnesia (9.5 / 10)
Here agrees almost everything back. Perfectly produced with great orchestras use and a lot of feeling. In two distinct sections separated, the first one is better.

10 Only When I Walk Away (7/10)
Probably the weakest in the entire 20/20 Experience. For once by Timbaland in production and Timberlake while singing a letdown. More than screaming vocals and much too long.

11- Not A Bad Thing (10/10)
This song is very radio friendly and would be suitable as a single fine for the cold winter. So it fits not entirely to complex other songs; Nevertheless a typical Timberlake track.
Pair Of Wings (9/10) hidden track, a self-established by Timberlake Acoustic number. Very nice, but why do they have to be for 6 minutes remains his secret.

Bonus Tracks

12 Blindness (9/10) Chillout number that is really pleasant to hear. But not a real highlight for me.

13- Electric Lady (10/10) Shortest Song of all with 4:20 minutes, but nevertheless a cool number with R'n'B and moderen Electro influences. Strong conclusion!

Conclusion: Part 1 and Part 2 both move in the same extremely high level and must be heard as a complete work. What Timberlake & Timbaland have created there is musical treat, who has little to do with mainstream and therefore is a welcome change in this year. Hopefully will not again for 7 years time for the next section of his glorious musical career Justin Timberlake to next time!
