Here is a very good to discover the best of Edith Lefel career, one of the greatest singers zouk, died in 2003. I did not know his music and I must confess that his songs have really enchanted me: it is zouk but quality, far away of Francky Vincent, Zouk Machine and other Compagnie Créole which alone sum up the false definition used too often in this genre.
The melodies are simply superb, there are zouk but also the mazurka and Latino influences (especially with a cover of "Piensa En Mi" Luz Casal). The lyrics, sung in French or Creole, are also very neat and often very touching as the beautiful song "Little Sister".
We can listen to this album for dancing but mainly to get away smoothly.
