If there is a concerto or violin and orchestra distrust, it is in this opus 35! But this interpretation is rather a nice violates that weaves with a beautiful orchestra in the background. What notament apathy in the first movement: just listen to the gaps or orchestra plays alone: it is slow, sluggish, boring ... the second movement (slow) is doing a little better but still in the Likewise ... there is little that the third movement to raise a bit overall.
Regarding this work, I think we should instead turn to other interpretations like those beautiful Isaac Stern (with Eugen Ormandy Philadelphia or New York Bernstein), more precise, more engaged, and so beautiful or the version of J. HEFFETZ, or that of V. MULLOVA (with the Boston S. Ozawa).
Finally, if you want my opinion, the reference version is for me unattainable version of Itzahk Perlman with the white-hot BOSTON LEINSDORF by Eirich (1967), available in cabinet ("the treasures of the violin" RCA) .It Just listen to the opening bars and climb the towers of the orchestra to understand that we are light years away from this version of "gala".
