The purely boost to the people here in their graphics card and Perfomance stuff:
Yes, is not that great. But that's not the reason why the game is currently still e-waste.
1. Previously it was the opponents EXCEPTION matter if they were fired, just like in Shogun 2 TO THE FINAL (after 100 patches) also. In Shogun 2 but they have at least respond, if you have done it in the middle of the field, not in Rome 2. I already in the field * some * achieved epic victories, because I just shot with 3 artillery and few shooters from 100m to a crowd of opponents who did not mind in the least. Cavalry, infantry, ect ... just stand obediently. The same in sieges.
Ansich opponents is all wurscht: Take time with conductors whose walls climbed and then shoot down shooters? No Problem. Opponents the 10m, standing inside front of the wall next to a tower, never come (I mean I invariably NIE) to go up with the idea on their own walls and fight against the shooter. That the enemy is repositioning its units at all before the start of the fight on the wall? NADA !!! In the dozen Fighting so far that's happened not once. 1-2 Protect standing somewhere, but the rest remains in on a bunch stick and not move.
This corresponds to the AI of the whole Games.
2. Diplomacy: Since you will be from 3-4 people ever 20 laps EVERY TIME the same demand: If you want to make a pact and 2000 to pay for it? No? Just ask the next 100 laps halt the exact same thing again.
War, when the enemy has allies: Of course you could previously try to break the alliance. But why? So far, without exception (10x approximately) works: Simply start the war, and participate in the same breath all its associations a peace offering. Has everyone immediately assumed some even gave me money for it. Great, right?
3. Management and Control: The distance (!!) most annoying bug that apparently almost everyone has at least sometimes: units can not give orders to run useless around the area, date back to half way, ships can not land at banks, units remain "on the mouse stick", after having given them command - the problem is "often", which has at any time as. And I do not mean every 1-2 hours time, but in about 20-30% of all the commands that you are at all. In so far every battle liefs so that some units not at all then moving where they should go, and almost every unit needed at least 1-2x attempts. How can something like that be please? I know absolutely no strategy game, but not only the pathfinding is partially bad, but that units just completely ignore what you want, or completely absurd things to do (for opponents run, and then halfway back yet).
4. Natural death: generals and agents level up? For what? One must assume that exception, every character (!!!) in a maximum of 20-30 rounds faded away in the game. Marry, give them special Buddies along the way, level up, traits - all nonsense. The moment someone has level 2 or 3 achieved is one few times round exit, and then the General has (or whatever) again passed away. I am in the current campaign round 100 - previously I had EVERY General and each agent 4-5x replace, and of course all the skills are also always lost (!).
That's just a tiny fraction of the problems. I can not understand for the life here when people give 4-5 stars because it IS WITH YOU looks good and runs smoothly. This is not a movie, this is a game. Of that it looks nice but you can not buy anything ... (well, the studio and the publisher apparently already; o). Equally comments ala "yet few patches, then ists eh playable". How can you evaluate a game after that as it may 3-4 months after it passes bought?
To make it again clear: It is not about blemishes or things that a "not fallen halt", it's about real mistakes that make the game in the number unplayable - but one does not matter that the AI in such a potato equivalent. But for me, that's when I would give a 5 star FPS, because "it's not so bad that opponents can not shoot." I can not stress this enough: The AI and mechanics have no "small defects" are nahzu not exist, and without exception in every situation (combat, great card, diplomacy).
Conclusion: Yes, the game has an incredible amount of potential and can after 3-4 months to secure the patches previously best Total War are part, and probably the best strategy game of the year. But not now. In the early beta test status to the game has currently, testers should be paid for playing, around otherwise.

NEW FAB error: If I attack some cities Rome 2 crashes every time after a few minutes, no matter what happens. Have just may end the battle for Libya 4x with a crash to the desktop and therefore two hours of my time irretrievably lost. Thank Rome 2 \ o /.
------------------------- Supplementary Beta Patch 2:
There is now a new beta patch (Beta, so you have to manually activate on Steam, you do not get automatically), and bring some hitherto. The lap times have been significantly shortened with me. The previous minimum time is now the "largest maximum". Therefore, for more than 40 sec hats no longer lasted since, several times also much faster (ie 20-30 seconds) - Compared to the absurd times before ists in any case a step forward.
Also some small good innovations: One sees now always bottom of the menu how long the current research is still ongoing and similar things.
What would definitely be more appropriate for the future: A "battle restart" function. Some times happen to still absurd things (refugees from the enemy running through the ranks, and the artillery considers it a good idea then fully purely to shoot and elite units which one drags for 50 years around with you wipe), and one would start a fight just new. So far, you have to admit defeat, to wait forever until the abschlossen is, then an old land Score (Quick Save from the start of the fight), which takes forever again, and then load the fight - which takes again infinitely. It can not be that one loading screen has to go through each 1-2 minutes at a time only to restart on the battlefield a total of 3 (!); O

One can all read here and it is glorious. Therefore gameplay has now received a third star for me. Incredibly many mistakes, balancing problems, ect. were massively improved and solved. Technical stuff too, but as I said, that was never my focus.
