The songs have consistently a sentimental character, sometimes the rhythm is faster, sometimes slower - but still lives the music a slightly depressed tone held, which may not last lie on the unique voice of Chris Martin. Here real feelings come over: melancholy, sorrow, suffering, sadness, love, loneliness - packed in ten beautiful songs that come along unpolished and partly brittle. Each song is inherent a very special magic that sometimes develops after repeated listening. If one has recognized the magic however, it is done by one and the songs no longer be a going on. Coinciding with "Do not panic", the opener of the album, the enchantment begins: Chris Martin's voice sounds so wonderfully melancholic when he "in a beautiful world we live" singing that you can feel the sentiment of the song almost physically. This is what happens to me even at "Yellow", the soulful melody is interrupted by brittle guitar sounds and thereby sounds only really striking. Right after "Yellow" follows with "Trouble" a catchy tune of a very special kind. Gentle piano sounds and a quiet, wistful voice make already the prelude of this song so special. Wonderful, when Chris Martin "I never meant to cause you trouble" sobs and believed every word ...
This album is for me great cinema - cinema feeling, if you will. Grandiose idea!
