The result is mixed:
1. Leave In Silence (Extended Version) 10/10
The entry of the two Greek women is very well done. Despite the abundant eight minutes of tense electro sound is neither overloaded nor lengthy. The machines are maxed out almost to incandescence. For me, the most successful cover version of the album. Some critics might complain at best, that the charming retreat of the original has been lost.
2. My Secret Garden (Extended Version) 9/10
Also a successful cover, but containing some monotonous passages. Longer is just not getting better.
3. Monument (Extended Version) 7/10
In Monument the weak point of the two artists is tangible the surface 'of breathy, siren-like vocals. More than once, he is' eliminated from the machines simply termi uh. Especially the chorus of the original lives of Dave's strong vocals' My Monument 'It Fell Down' and the mystical background vocals' Work All Of My Days'. Both vocal ranges are simply run over by unstoppable, electronic Marsheaux train.
4. Nothing To Fear (Extended Version) 8/10
Again a very nice cover version. However, the instrumental music is too cluttered. It sounds like a mix of 'Miami-Vice' music and the DM-only.
5. See You (Extended Version) 8/10
The beautiful basic melody of the original is retained. But even here there are lengths, in particular, draws the Intro: The song does not start until 2:30 minutes.
6. Satellite (Extended Version) 9/10
De synthesizers create a wonderful pathetic squirming atmosphere. From the original not much left, but this is not a negative values in this case.
7. The Meaning Of Love (Extended Version) 4/10
Already the original is not necessarily to be regarded as a highlight of Depeche Mode. Marsheaux do it but to make something incredibly annoying it means distortion. It is the low point of the album. The song (anything between Super Mario Gameboy signals and a poorly oiled barrel organ) may well serve to expel unwanted visitors from the apartment. The sustainability is undeniable - the head a booming chaos remains.
8. A Photograph Of You (Extended Version) 6/10
After the fiasco of its predecessor it particularly difficult this cover version. The initial tapping goes into a slow-motion song, which is for the time being quite pleasant, but until the end hardly changes. It runs like chewing gum and had a Falling asleep quite potential. Fortunately, it does not bother, but it touches either.
9. Should not Have Done That (Extended Version) 6/10
In the original, original and minimalist with special breaks which introduced with 'Photograph Of You' mushy from Marsheaux come along unhindered. It is a well maintained, electronic ripple down without highlights.
10. The Sun And The Rain Fall (Extended Version) 8/10
After the last three not very successful cover versions it's a blessing to be able to re-experience a highlight. Why then only 8 points? Because these classics has already been interpreted better by various artists. Too many faces whitewash the basic melody and let the little goose bumps to which almost always comes over me at TSATR. (The breathy monotone end annoying even.)
11. Now This Is Fun 09/10
Wonderful gem, which (due to the distortion) past scars just to the 10 points. The paradox between the original melancholic melody and (seemingly) spaßigem text is taken from the two women, with the support of the mirrors-singer James news very well and is still worlds away from the Depeche Mode song.
12. Oberkorn (It's A Small Town) 7/10
The end of the album makes another B-side song by Depeche Mode. Oberkorn is already not easy to digest in the original and can be difficult to assess even with Marsheaux. I vacillate 6-8 points and give therefore to have the 7 perhaps dared compromise 'also for the courage of the women on this subject. On one hand, it resembles the Elektronikbrei of Title 8 and 9, on the other, the listener opens an interesting electronic parallel world (-town).
Conclusion 'short and simple: Apart from the 3 to 4 songs flagging is highly recommended this cover album for Depeche Mode fans and / or electronic purists. 4 of 5 points.
