Georgette Heyer wrote countless Regency romance novels, which have their solid readership today. The Grand Dame of the romantic novel, however, has in my opinion, better and worse works among their creations. "The Unknown Ajax" I find it very successful, even though the emphasis on the love story is not quite as much as in many other of her books. Instead, we get insight into the life of the English smugglers south-west coast and a fun introduction to the Yorkshire dialect. And of course there are, as always with Heyer also a large number of extremely well-drawn secondary characters of the two feuding valets to cousin Claud, the Dandy. But the love story I find beautiful and the hero and heroine are almost equal. If you like other Heyer, is this probably also like. For me he is one of my 10 favorite books Heyer.
