From the Santana band for Melodicrock- world leaders

Journey was founded in 1975 by the ex-Santana accompanying musicians Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie with ex Zappa drummer Aynsley Dunbar and bassist Ross Valory; Only protective and Valory are still there. The history of the band can be roughly divided into three phases: First there is the early stage, which includes the first three albums "Journey", "Look into the Future" and "Next". During this time the band played an inspired mix of instrumental rock, prog rock and Latin with a few scattered ballads. The second phase began with the addition of the singer Steve Perry and reflects the highly successful turn to melodic rock. With "Infinity", "Evolution", "Escape", "Frontiers" and "Raised on Radio" The 5CD- set includes almost the entire second volume phase. The latter album is controversial among fans because of its high proportion of ballads and its smooth production; here the inexplicably missing "departure" would have been essential. Taking the just adds one has all Journey- classic for quite narrow money completely together. Four and a half stars.
