Waiting For The Sirens' Call (Audio CD)

Customer Review

First a little history. It was in the summer of 1983, when I heard the first time in the "Top Ten SWF3" the New Order song "Blue Monday". At the time I was 14, and the song was a revolution for me. The single was more than 7 minutes and there was only this version! The keyboards were so striking and the sonority that big. The first time I heard a drum - computer, and its precise, hard beats hewed me to almost: New Order made hard rock with keyboards! I knew this song I'd never forget.
Over time, turned out for me but, the New Order is primarily a single - band is: The CD's rather weak, but always incredibly good singles like:
1986 True Faith
1993 Regret
2001 Crystal
Just "Get Ready" from the year 2001, I felt as the previously most balanced and best CD of New Order.
The sequel to "Waiting for the Sirens Call" screwed the guitars back a little, the sound is again more to synth-pop. And as in the past to change on this CD ingenious songs with shallow, boring songs without draft. The first single "Krafty" divorce with me already the spirits: there starts a pop song with a melody as "all my ducks", but if the drum machine used and finally the familiar New Or - are to hear guitars, must I say: The song has what. And one more thing about the New - Order guitars: this sound exactly the same since 1983 in such a way as if Robert Smith of The Cure plays a solo.
Besides "Krafty" there's the following pop pearls:
* "Jetstream", a cozy Popper with a great chorus
* "Who's Joe" with a typical melancholic melody. It is in such sad songs is the real strength of New Order, always.
* "Turn" to the great chorus and the guitar.
The best song of the CD is definitely "Guilt is a useless emotion." Already the introduction to the song with this keyboard - "Hauchern" and the erotic, female backing vocals is really cool. I had the Backstreet Boys keyboards omitted in the chorus.
"Morning Night and Day" sounds at the start like a spacecraft, then go with vigorous massive beats and drums on. A Super Dance Song, great pop of fun and a highlight on this CD.
Really weak "Hey now what you are doing", a full bore, "I told you so" is complete nonsense, so scrap.
Well: Who "New Order" like, you can not make a mistake with this CD. The band remains in 2005 your strengths but also your weaknesses 100% true and is not taking any chances. Maybe I can find the CD precisely why a little boring and not as super as "Get Ready".
