I confess that I have long been ignorant of economics, largely because I thought about it uninteresting. But since 2008, I understand that the economy is THE major issue, and it should be studied first. Volia partly why I really like this comic. She explores the fate of a major banker dynasty, and the course of what could pass for a simple anecdote (I knew) but which in fact is crucial event in the history of Europe and the world. Do not expect to find sympathetic hero, there is none. We are here at the heart of a basket of crabs, or good and evil do not exist. There is neither good nor bad ... just a struggle for power and money.
Then, I was charmed by the drawings and colors. The irregularity of features gives the whole nervous side and a little sketch, which is very nice, and the false simplicity of colors makes reading. I remember especially the quality of the decorations that are beautifully drawn. I spent several minutes watching this or interiors, such and such streets ... It's beautiful.
That said, I think this comic is not suitable for young readers accustomed to manga.
