Driver: San Francisco (computer game)

Customer Review

I had gained this game as Driver 1 was my introduction to the fascination of a freely navigable city at that time. Attempts were made to revive an old classic again. The story includes point though it is on the 3rd part of Driver, whose end for Tanner and his nemesis Jericho was open.

Towards his condemnation flees Jericho. Tanner is on his heels. Due to a serious traffic accident between two Tanner is sent into a coma. From here begins the quasi history by experiencing the hunt for Jericho in his comatose state. He has supernatural powers that allow him z. B. to warp into another car to intercept the enemy or to scrap the car. It is treated literally in the situation of another person. As impressive and helpful as that may be, it is a matter of taste, whether it really suits the classic Driver Image.

Normally, one should assume that the emissions due Tanners new skills easier. However, one notes during the game that the frustration factor in the emissions proportional develops into Tanner's abilities. The difficulty increases over time. Especially the tight time dimensions here are preparing a worry. As nice as it is to make extravagant driving styles and stunts in the legendary muscle cars, but you lose valuable time that is needed for a successful completion of the task. Casual fun you can often enjoy only in the open air ride. The police will be increasingly aggressive. Should a z. B. times driving a Lamborghini in a street race, so sufficient a small Anschubser, to rotate like a spinning top. Strangely, is suddenly behind so much traffic because that one hardly comes out of the sheet avalanches. The other catch up is then already a matter of luck. Good is that you can finish the race with a second place.

Conclusion:
The game has quite its charm and reflects significant classical elements. Sound and music have been very well implemented. However, I can still here only awarded 2 stars, as many missions produce more frustration instead of pleasure. I have at least not much fun to repeat a mission due within 5 seconds crossing umpteen times.
