Isabelle Filliozat addresses most difficult situations of children aged 1 to 5 years. It is presented as in parenting magazines (short texts with essentially different situations of illustrations), but not with the same content! For example the title of the 2nd chapter: "From 12 to 18 months: the period of non-parents." To get parents readers to position the side of their child, it uses the terms of the discourse of our society (scientific evidence came neuroscience, hormones, psychosocial experiences), but also illuminating remarks like: "The Children focus on the process, parents, content (...). Parents have a tendency to interpret the comments of children as requests or requirements [while children are discovering the world ] "(p. 73). Some remarks seem to fall within the "trick" but they are based on an unfailingly positioning of the child's side. All parents should have read this book.
